Primitive Coppersmithing
Learn the ancient art of redsmithing and forge copper into accessories for both beauty and utility. Copper and other soft metals such as gold and silver that were readily available in many places throughout the world in their natural, native states, created the basis for more advanced metallurgical technologies.
Students will have the option of forging a traditional copper penannular brooch (blanket or cloak pin), sheath dangler ring, or bracelet.
Students who have completed the Bladesmithing intensive may use this class to forge copper accents for their knife handles.
In this workshop, you will:
• Learn to cold forge soft metals
• Practice hot forging techniques
• Understand the principles of work hardening and annealing copper
• Hand craft your own copper penannular brooch, bracelet, sheath dangler ring, or knife handle accents.

Cancellation and Refund Policies
A great deal of staff time and expense is invested into the preparation and organization of individual classes. It is difficult and oftentimes impossible to recover costs and/or find a student to replace a cancelled registrant and so our cancellation and refund policies reflect this. Full refunds, minus $15 administrative fee for single day classes and a $30 admin fee for multi-day classes, are given to registrants who cancel with at least 7 days notice of the event. Cancellations made less than 7 days of the event forfeit a refund.
